WPF Charting Performance Comparison (The battle continues)

This article highlights two main contenders in the battle for high performance WPF and Silverlight charts. These are Visiblox (www.visiblox.com) and SciChart (www.scichart.com).

SciChart - Real-time WPF Silverlight Charts ($789 inc support) is a relative newcomer, however was the first among the two to pioneer raster based WPF charts - a hybrid approach between using WPF retained most graphics and raster (bitmap) graphics to achieve unprecidented performance in WPF and Silverlight charts. Visiblox followed soon after with their offering Visiblox Ultimate ($1500 inc support).

Check out the two in their online demos and watch this space. There's been a quantum leap forward in WPF/Silverlight charting performance and vendor competitiveness driven by SciChart's innovation in this space.

We believe there are more exciting things to come as developers discover the nuances of the .NET and WPF, Silverlight, WinRT platforms and take full advantage of the technology frameworks provided by Microsoft.
